High School Selection (8th Grade)

Most students/parents have now successfully created a MySchoolDC account. Over the next week, students and parents should be researching schools to determine top choices and best fit for students. Students are also meeting with staff who’ll help make some school recommendations. If you have questions or would like support with this process, please e-mail sleahey@washingtonglobal.org. Don’t forget that the order of schools in your list matters and that you can log in anytime to make changes to the application!

Featured Class – 7.2 ELA: “Write” back to School

Each week, Washington Global will highlight one class, or cohort. The goal is to give you (families) the opportunity to see a snapshot of what is going on at Washington Global. We encourage you to talk to your child about what they’re learning!

This week, students in cohort 7.2 began learning the skills to build introductory paragraphs, including writing solid topic sentences and incorporating strong transition words. Students are diving into writing more in preparation for PARCC and their Quarter 2 final projects. The poster aspect of the final project is due January 9th and a final paper will be handed in on January 17th. Let’s get writing!
